How we got started.
Midwest EV is a new business in the Electric Vehicle industry. We are a branch of Motion Products, Inc. which is also located in Northeast Wisconsin and is one of the most known classic automotive restoration facilities for concour level restorations. One of Motion Products, Inc clients was interested in an Electric Vehicle Conversion. As a company, Motion Products saw an opportunity to open up an Electric Vehicle business, Midwest EV. Midwest EV will be the hub for EV projects, while Motion Products will provide supporting service when needed. For example if any metal work needs to be done to due different drive system and battery layout for a conversion, Motion Products will handle the custom metal fabrication portion, while Midwest EV will handle the install of the build/conversion.
Our Roots
One of Motion Products’ former summer interns, Drew Bartel, will be heading up Midwest EV with the guidance of Motion Products owners. Drew spent three summers at Motion in various departments. And in the fall would return to Ferris State University in Big Rapids, Michigan, to study Automotive Engineering Technology. After graduation, Drew started his career at General Motors writing service manuals. Although Drew enjoyed his time at GM and expanded his knowledge, he felt he could use his degree even more in a different career path.
With the support of Motion Products, Midwest EV is proud to announce their very first project: a 1932 Ford Truck complete build and conversion. Stay tuned! We’ll be posting more on our projects soon.
Our Sister Companies
Motion Products, Inc has many companies related to the automotive industry. If you’re from the Fox Valley, you’ve probably heard of Classic Mechanics, another sister company. We are also proud to have T.Rutlands, The Chrome Shop, and WJW Metal Fabrication as part of our team of automotive industry leaders.
